The short version
Filo is for running the back office of a company that makes physical products. Use it for that, on your own records and with the people and suppliers you already do business with, and you will never meet this page again. The rules below exist so one customer's use never hurts another, a supplier, or Filo itself.
What you may not do
- Break the law. Do not put unlawful content into Filo or use it to do anything unlawful, including sending unlawful commercial email.
- Use someone else's credentials. Connect only mailboxes, drives, Slack workspaces and systems that are yours or that your company has authorized you to connect. Never enter another person's password or token.
- Email people who have not asked to hear from you. Filo drafts email to the suppliers, customers and colleagues you already work with, and sends it from your own mailbox after you approve it. Do not use it to send bulk or unsolicited mail, or to reach people outside those business relationships.
- Work around Filo's ground rules. Do not try to make Filo send without an approval, place an order, release a lot, hide a change from the record, or act as a person it is not. These rules protect you as much as anyone.
- Scrape or probe. Do not crawl the website, the app or the API, run automated requests against them beyond the ordinary use of your own workspace, test their security without written permission from us, or try to reach data that is not your company's.
- Resell or repackage. Do not offer Filo, or any part of it, as a service to others, or use it to build a competing product. A consultant setting Filo up for a client they are authorized to act for is fine.
- Upload what you should not. Do not put into Filo files you do not have the right to use, or malware of any kind.
Apps you build
Apps Filo builds for your workspace follow the same rules. They may only call Filo's own functions on your company's records, and they may not be used to collect data from people outside your company without telling them.
What happens if you do
If we see a workspace breaking these rules, we will tell its owners and give them a chance to fix it, unless the harm is immediate, in which case we may pause the workspace first and explain afterward. Repeated or serious breaches end the account under the Terms of service. We will always say what we saw.
