Pet food and treats

Filo for pet food and treat contract manufacturers.

Filo prices the recipes your customers send you, from kibble and jerky treats to chews and toppers. It gets current prices from your ingredient and packaging suppliers, costs every bag size your customer asked for, and drafts the estimate. Your team checks it and sends it.

A 12 oz stand-up pouch of salmon and sweet potato dog treats, with callouts to each line of its bill of materials: salmon meal 38%, sweet potato flour 27%, pea protein 18%, vitamin and mineral premix 2%, the pouch with zipper and the label.

What Filo does for a pet food contract manufacturer.

Get prices from your ingredient and packaging suppliers.

Filo emails your suppliers of proteins, flours, premixes, pouches and labels from your own Gmail, reads their replies, and records each price with its MOQ and lead time.

How supplier pricing works →

Quote every bag size from one recipe.

Upload the recipe, formula or BOM. Filo matches each ingredient and packaging part to your materials, applies your overage, and costs each bag size at the quantities your customer asked for.

How customer quotes work →

Give the plant simple apps.

Filo builds apps for work your team does by hand, like counting totes of premix or tracking which quotes are waiting on prices.

Filo prices the recipe and the packaging together.

Every line of the bag gets a current price from your price list, with the supplier and the date it was quoted. A price older than your cutoff is marked, and Filo drafts a new request for it.

The cost of one 12 oz bag of salmon treats, line by line: salmon meal, sweet potato flour, pea protein (its July price marked out of date), premix, tocopherols, the pouch, the label and a share of the shipper case, for $1.10 of materials and packaging per bag.

Filo works alongside your ERP and QMS.

Most pet food plants run an ERP, a quality system and a few spreadsheets. Filo doesn’t replace any of them. It reads and updates your suppliers, materials and prices where they already live: a Google Sheet, Fiddle, or Filo itself.

Supplier emails go out from your buyer’s own Gmail, and every change Filo makes is recorded and can be undone.

Questions pet food manufacturers ask us.

Our customers send recipes as percentages. Can Filo cost that?
Yes. Filo turns each percentage into an amount per bag at the bag weight you quote, and asks you when a bag weight or batch size is missing.
Does Filo check the guaranteed analysis or the label?
Not yet. Filo prices and quotes the recipe. Checking a recipe against its guaranteed analysis is coming next.
Will our suppliers know an AI wrote the email?
The email comes from your buyer’s address, written the way they write, and your buyer sends it.
Do we need to replace our ERP?
No. Filo reads and updates the records you already keep, in Google Sheets, in Fiddle or in Filo.
